2027 Cadillac Lyriq Gets a NACS Port, New Colors and an OnStar AI Assistant
The 2027 Lyriq costs $200 more, plugs straight into Tesla Superchargers and will be first to get GM's OnStar AI Assistant. Some trims lose the AR head-up display.

The 2027 Cadillac Lyriq will be the first GM vehicle to get the new OnStar AI Assistant, GM said on October 21, 2026. The voice assistant arrives through an over-the-air update "in the coming months," and it lands on a Lyriq that already changed in several practical ways for the new model year: a built-in NACS charge port, new paint and leather choices, a narrower spread of the augmented-reality head-up display, and a $200 price increase.
Production of the 2027 Lyriq started in July at GM's Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, and Cadillac's configurator has been live since late July, so these cars are already reaching dealers.
What changes for 2027
Charging. The Lyriq now uses the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port in place of the older CCS1 connector. That means a 2027 Lyriq can plug into Tesla Superchargers without an adapter. Cadillac still quotes up to 190 kW on DC fast chargers, or about 86 miles of range in roughly 10 minutes, and an EPA-estimated 326 miles for rear-drive models. GM sells a CCS1 DC adapter for $189 for stations that still use the older plug.
Head-up display. For 2026, the augmented-reality head-up display came standard on the Signature Luxury and Signature Sport as well as the Lyriq-V. For 2027, only the Lyriq-V and Lyriq-V Premium include it as standard, and the Signature trims no longer offer it. GM Authority and Electrek both report the change.
Colors and cabin. Three new paints arrive. Blue Graphite Tricoat replaces Celestial Metallic, Cashmere replaces Nimbus Metallic, and Midnight Stone Frost, a matte-look finish, replaces Magnus Metal Frost. Midnight Stone Frost is limited to the Lyriq-V models and costs $3,995. The Signature trims also gain two Nappa leather combinations: Black with Sky Cool Gray accents, and Kona Brown Sauvage with Sheer Gray accents.
Towing. Per GM's 2027 trailering figures, as reported by GM Authority, every all-wheel-drive Lyriq, including the 615-hp Lyriq-V, is rated to tow 3,500 lb. Rear-drive versions are not rated to tow at all.
Prices
Cadillac lists the 2027 Lyriq from $59,400 before the $1,795 destination charge, up from $59,200 for 2026. Current starting prices on Cadillac's site include:
- Luxury: $59,400
- Premium Luxury: $63,400
- Signature Luxury: $66,800
All-wheel drive adds $3,500 on non-V trims. With destination, the Lyriq-V starts at $80,495 and the Lyriq-V Premium at $85,695, figures that GM Authority and Electrek both report.
How the OnStar AI Assistant works
Drivers say "Hey OnStar" and ask in plain language. GM's examples include changing the cabin temperature, turning on dome lights, opening the glove box or charge port, checking tire pressure, range or charging status, and asking whether there is enough charge to reach a destination, with charging stops mapped if not.
It can also explain the car itself, from how one-pedal driving works to what a particular warning light means, and it can hand the conversation to a live OnStar Advisor. GM says the features are opt-in, that owners can see what data each one uses, and that permissions for the camera, microphone, location and AI can be switched off.
GM also plans a single OnStar app, starting in 2027, to replace the current Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and OnStar Guardian apps.
Owner brief
What it means for buyers
- Charging on the road gets simpler. A 2027 Lyriq can use Superchargers without an adapter. Keep a CCS1 adapter in the car anyway, since many fast chargers still use the older plug.
- Want the AR head-up display? On a 2027, you now need a Lyriq-V. A 2026 Signature Luxury or Signature Sport still in dealer stock is the other way to get it.
- Planning to tow? Order all-wheel drive. A rear-drive Lyriq is not rated for a trailer.
- The AI assistant is a promise, not yet a feature. GM has not given a date beyond "the coming months," and it has not said whether 2026 and older Lyriqs will get it. If it matters to you, ask the dealer to confirm what the specific car will receive.
- Paint choice affects price. Midnight Stone Frost adds $3,995 on a Lyriq-V, and matte-look finishes need gentler care than gloss paint.
