2027 Cadillac Optiq Adds Four Colors and a Limited Deep Ocean Optiq-V

Cadillac's smallest EV changes little for 2027: four new paints, a limited Optiq-V edition and cleaner badges. Base rear-drive models now list for about $900 less than in June.

The 2027 Cadillac Optiq is now on sale with four new paint colors, a limited-run Deep Ocean edition of the Optiq-V and simpler rear badges, but no mechanical changes. Cadillac's smallest electric SUV also got cheaper at the bottom of the range: the rear-drive Luxury and Sport now list for roughly $900 less than when the 2027 configurator opened in June.

New colors, and three that are gone

The Optiq's palette grows to 10 colors for 2027, according to GM Authority. The new ones are tied to specific trims:

  • Citron Tricoat, a vivid yellow-green, costs $1,325 and is offered on the Sport and Premium Sport.
  • Sandstone costs $725 and is offered only on the Luxury and Premium Luxury.
  • Midnight Stone Frost is limited to the Optiq-V.
  • Deep Ocean Tintcoat comes only on the Optiq-V with the Deep Ocean Design Edition package.

Celestial Metallic, Magnus Metal Frost and Nimbus Metallic are dropped, so anyone set on those needs a 2026 car from dealer stock.

The Deep Ocean package costs $8,220. Car and Driver describes it as a limited release that pairs the blue paint with a Santorini Blue interior scheme, carbon-fiber trim, blue brake calipers and unique 21-inch six-spoke wheels. GM Authority reports that Cadillac has flagged late and extremely limited availability for it.

The other visible change is at the back. The numbered torque badge goes away as part of Cadillac's lineup-wide move for 2027; all-wheel-drive models keep an E4 badge.

Prices and powertrains

Cadillac's site currently lists these starting prices before the $1,795 destination charge:

  • Luxury: $49,995
  • Sport: $50,600
  • Premium Luxury: $53,200
  • Premium Sport: $53,700
  • Optiq-V: $67,500

With destination, that is $51,790 to $69,295, which Car and Driver's listing matches. When the configurator went live in June, GM Authority reported the rear-drive Luxury at $52,695 and the Sport at $53,295, so those two now cost $905 and $900 less. The Premium trims and the Optiq-V are unchanged. In June, all-wheel drive added $3,500 to each of the four regular trims.

The powertrains carry over. The single-motor rear-drive Optiq makes 315 hp and has an EPA-estimated 317 miles of range. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version makes 440 hp and is rated at 303 miles. The Optiq-V makes 519 hp, according to Car and Driver, with an EPA range of 250 to 278 miles. All use an 85 kWh battery, and the Optiq has had a native NACS port for Tesla Superchargers since the 2026 model year.

Where it stands

The Optiq was GM's best-selling EV in the third quarter, with 4,550 deliveries, down only 6.9% from a year earlier while Cadillac's EV total fell by a third. Through September it is up 18.4%. Car and Driver rates it 9 out of 10 and ranks it second among electric compact luxury SUVs, behind the Porsche Macan Electric. Its listed drawbacks are a luggage area squeezed by the sloping rear and no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Buyer brief

What it means for buyers

  • Start with the rear-drive car. It is the cheapest Cadillac EV, has the longest range of any Optiq and benefits from the lower list price. All-wheel drive adds power and traction but costs range.
  • A 2026 is nearly the same car. Apart from paint and badges, little has changed, so a discounted 2026 in stock is worth comparing. Make sure any 2026 you consider is priced against the new, lower 2027 sticker.
  • Paint limits trims. If you want Sandstone, you are shopping Luxury or Premium Luxury; Citron means Sport or Premium Sport.
  • Deep Ocean is a collector's choice. Expect few cars and late arrivals; order through a dealer early if you want one.
  • No federal credit. New EVs acquired after September 30, 2025, no longer qualify, so compare out-the-door prices with any Cadillac incentives included.
  • Towing is light. The Optiq is rated for 1,500 pounds with the accessory hitch.
