Cadillac Optiq bulletins: spoiler rub, peeling paint and lost audio from a leak
Three GM dealer bulletins cover the 2025-2027 Optiq: a liftgate spoiler that rubs the body, paint peeling near the headlamps on 2027 models, and water that silences the amplifier.
Three recent General Motors dealer bulletins cover the Cadillac Optiq, the brand's smallest electric SUV. None is a safety recall, and each either spells out a repair or tells dealers how to handle the problem while engineers investigate. They are separate from the Optiq's key fob window recall, campaign 26V612, and owners who still need that update can ask for everything in one visit.
A liftgate spoiler that rubs the body
Bulletin PIC6666, created on October 7, 2026, covers 2025-2027 Optiqs built before September 8, 2026. Owners may hear a rubbing noise from the back of the vehicle. GM traces it to the spoiler at the top of the liftgate touching the body, which can leave a white mark in the paint.
The fix is an adjustment. The technician loosens the liftgate hinge bolts so the liftgate settles back into its correct position, loosens the spoiler, moves it rearward to create clearance, then tightens everything again. GM tells dealers to repair any rub marks as part of the job.
Peeling paint near the headlamps on 2027 models
Bulletin PIC6665, created on September 25, covers 2027 Optiqs whose paint peels from the front bumper cover around the headlamps. GM's engineers are investigating the cause. In the meantime, dealers repair it using GM's standard procedures.
No sound at all: water at the amplifier
Bulletin PIC6645A covers 2025-2027 Optiqs that lose all audio, with the silence lasting through restarts. GM traces it to water getting in through a body seam behind the right-hand auxiliary stop lamp and reaching the amplifier module. Technicians check the amplifier for signs of water, confirm the leak path, then fill holes or gaps in the seam sealer behind the trim and flatten any bumps that keep the taillight's rubber locators from sitting flat.
The bulletin's steps deal with finding and sealing the leak. If your Optiq had this repair, ask the dealer what was done about the amplifier itself, and keep the repair order.
How these differ from a recall
Preliminary information bulletins tell technicians how to handle a known complaint. They do not trigger letters to owners, so the dealer acts only when you bring the vehicle in with the symptom. The spoiler and amplifier bulletins bill the work to the bumper-to-bumper warranty, which runs four years or 50,000 miles on a Cadillac, so an Optiq still inside that coverage should not cost anything to fix. Every Optiq built so far is still within the four-year limit.
Owner brief
What it means for owners
- Rubbing noise from the back: open the liftgate and look along the spoiler's edge for a white or worn line in the paint. If you see one, mention PIC6666. The door-jamb label shows the month and year of manufacture; for a September 2026 build, the dealer can confirm the exact date from the VIN.
- 2027 owners: check the paint around both headlamps, especially after a car wash, and report any peeling early, while the area is small.
- Audio out entirely: if the sound stays off no matter how often you restart, mention PIC6645A and ask the dealer to look for damp carpet or trim in the cargo area.
- Combine visits: if the window recall update has not been installed over the air, the dealer can do it at the same appointment. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls for campaign 26V612.
- Selling later: paint and water-leak repairs are worth documenting. Keep the repair orders with the car's records.
Dashbird tip
After a bulletin repair on your Optiq, add it to the service history in Dashbird with the date and mileage, so its PDF report shows the paint or leak work to the next owner.
